The Jurassic Coast, stretching across Dorset and East Devon, is one of the UK’s most spectacular landscapes – renowned for its dramatic cliffs, fossils, and unique geology of global importance. Designated as a World Heritage Site in 2001, this coastline is a truly special place to explore – and now you can experience it virtually, by rowing 50km along our interactive tracking map.

Your route takes you along the western half of the Jurassic Coast, finishing with a loop around the Isle of Portland. Row on a machine, on the water, or a mix of both – and complete the distance whenever and wherever it suits you. Once you’ve finished, you’ll earn a stunning exclusive medal as proof of your achievement.

How It Works

Submitting & Claiming Your Medal

• When you sign up, you’ll be sent a personal tracking link.

• Upload your rowing progress whenever you like – little and often, or in big sessions.

• As soon as you complete the 50km on the virtual map, your medal will be sent automatically.

• Didn’t receive your link? Just email us at info@racethedistance.com and we’ll sort it.

Checking Your Progress

• Track your journey in real time with our results system, sortable by age, gender, and country.

• Watch your virtual boat move along the Jurassic Coast on our interactive map.

• Compare your progress against others and even race friends online!
